Preparation of a new National Research & Innovation Strategic Plan 2011-2020 - Public Consultation
In October 2010, the Malta Council for Science and Technology ("The Council") embarked on the preparation of a new national R&I strategic plan with the aim of building on the achievements and lessons learnt over the past years. The Council also aimed to contextualise the new plan within the present economic realities as well as national and European developments over the past few years.
In order to do this, the Council set up a steering group and five thematic groups to support the identification of gaps in the system and propose measures to address them. In addition, the Council met with over 20 key stakeholders on an individual basis to further understand how the new strategy can be shaped to support the development of the R&I sector in Malta over the coming decade.
On the basis of the internal work carried out, as well as the consultations undertaken, the Council has prepared a first draft of the R&I strategic plan 2011-2020 for public consultation. Feedback, in the form of completed feedback forms, must reach the Council at the following address: strategy.mcst@gov.mt by Tuesday 31st January 2012.
