Science in the Community Events
These consist of mini S&T Festivals being organised by MCST together with six Local Councils: San Gwann (7th February 2010); Mtarfa (11th April 2010); St.Paul's Bay (2nd May 2010); Mqabba (30th May 2010); Marsascala (20th June 2010); Xaghara Gozo (TBC).
We invite you to come and interact with our science exhibits; participate in animated discussions about inventors and renowned scientists! The idea behind these events is to popularise science amongst the local community. We will be involving local NGOs, S&T players, private companies, local schools and so on.
The event is free of charge and there will be science animators guiding you around, available to explain the scientific concepts behind each exhibit. Food and drinks available.

S&T Festival 2009
Come and experience the fun side of science. You’ll be surprised at just how often you use science in your everyday life.
The MCST invites you to the S&T Festival 2009 being held at the University of Malta from 23rd to 29th November 2009. This event is sure to be a fun-filled festival for all the family, so do come and visit the wide range of activities we have lined up for you.
The S&T Festival will consist of a variety of activities that will be spread all over the university grounds. You could start off with a tour of the interactive science exhibits on display. Here you will be invited to explore and uncover the scientific principles that make our exhibits tick.
Many organisations from all walks of life will also be present to show you how important science is to the running of their daily work.
Have you ever heard of edutainment? It’s merely an entertaining way of passing on an educational message. MCST is using this novel approach by engaging professional scientific animators to entertain, educate and share their passion for science with all present. The animators will be performing live experiments, so be sure to bring your safety gear along with you - if you have any!
A number of fascinating talks will also be held throughout the week. We intend to cover the controversial as well as the exciting so don’t be the one to miss out!
If adventure isn’t your thing, we will have a number of guides to walk you through the grounds.
