Call for Applications for participation in Brokerage Events

Objective of Scheme

To facilitate participation in FP7 through participation in brokerage events.  

Terms of Scheme

MCST will organise and cover the cost of the flight (capped at €500) together with a flat rate of €100 / night as a contribution to accommodation and subsistence.  The subsistence will be given following the submission of boarding passes and a report by the participant.  

Eligible applicants

There are no restrictions regarding eligibility of participants.  

Selection Criteria

Selection of applicants will be on the basis of the following criteria:

  • interest and efforts shown to date by the applicant in participating in FP7  (e.g. attendance at MCST events, responding to partner searches, knowledge of work programme, other efforts to participate, etc.);
  • the potential of the applicant to participate in FP7 projects on the basis of academic achievements and expertise (in terms of academic qualifications, specific expertise, research experience, publications, citations, etc.);
  • the potential of the applicant to participate in FP7 projects on the basis of industrial track record;
  • the need to attend – partners who have already participated in several projects and already have a network of contacts will need to justify the requirement to attend.

Follow-up report

The participants shall prepare a brief report (and possibly be asked to give a presentation) on their attendance at the event. The report shall include: 

  • Their assessment of the usefulness of the event – e.g. was there good attendance by potential partners, did it include specific activities for meeting partners, etc.
  • Outcome of attendance at the event – e.g. general contacts which were made, any specific leads,
  • Lessons learnt and recommendations for the future.
