The Third European Security Research Conference (SRC’08) will be held in Paris on 29 and 30 September 2008. Organised under the French Presidency of the European Union, this event will bring together more than 1,200 representatives from the worlds of research, industry and European institutions.
SRC’08 is organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Ministry of the Interior, Overseas Territories and Local Authorities and the Ministry of Defence with the support of the European Commission.
The main objective of SRC’08 will be to showcase the concrete implications of security research for citizens on the one hand, and to stress the need to bring together research and innovation opportunities and security needs and the market, on the other hand.
This conference, which is also part of the actions undertaken under the European Security Research Programme (ESRP) of the 7th Framework programme (FP7), will be opened by European authorities representing the Commission and the Parliament as well as by the Ministers in charge of research and domestic security (depending on interventions by other authorities).
